What is a home theater surround sound system?

What is a home theater surround sound system

Audio equipment not only requires professional technical quality inspection to make it meet certain technical indicators, but also requires subjective evaluation of sound quality through human hearing. This is the listening evaluation or sound quality evaluation. In the home theater, you can feel the real sound surround How the sound comes out is briefly introduced below:

surround speakers

Surround sound systems usually have surround speakers installed at the back of the audio-visual room, but it does not mean that two speakers are installed at the back of the audio-visual room to have surround sound effects.

If you just connect two speakers from the front and a pair of speakers in parallel to the back, then the sound emitted by the latter is exactly the same as the former. Without surround sound decoding processing, it cannot really be called a surround sound system.

So, what is the decoding part of surround sound effects?

Video discs or video tapes, two of the current main home video software, have only two left and right channel signal spaces for sound. However, the simplest Dolby matrix encoding generally requires four sets of signals: left, right, center and surround. How can I do this? How to "stuff" it into software that only has two-channel space? The answer is to insert the center and surround signals into the original left and right channel signals.

The center channel signal is the information owned by both the left and right channels, while the surround channel signal is the difference between the two. In other words, the signal of the left and right channels that are in phase is the center channel, and the signal that is out of phase is the surround channel. In this way, the original four-channel signal is squeezed into two channels, and the function of the surround sound decoder is to separate (decode) the center and surround signals mixed into the left and right channels, and then transfer them to each channel. The channel's amplifier uses power to amplify and drive the speaker.

Therefore, the sounds emitted by the surround speakers, the center channel and the two left and right speakers in front are different. Don't think that you can simply connect another set of speakers at the back and send the signals from the left and right speakers in front in parallel. You can get the surround sound effect.
