The power amplifier is also divided into pre-stage and post-stage:

1) The main function of the front stage is volume control first, and the second is to amplify the received voltage, because most CD players have volume adjustment, but the output voltage is insufficient, and finally there is a choice to adjust the input source;

2) The function of the post-stage is power amplification. Simply put, it is to amplify the current and amplify the audio signal to the speaker for playback (note: there is no saying that the higher the power amplifier power is, the better. First, it depends on the parameter matching degree, and then on the system configuration. , and finally to achieve the best results)

There are two kinds of amplification circuits for tube amplifiers, which are push-pull amplifier circuits and single-ended amplifier circuits.

Many users are stumped by these two circuits when purchasing amplifiers. In fact, as long as you can understand their working characteristics, the purchase will be much easier.

1) The main features of the push-pull amplifier circuit are high power, strong dynamic sense, low requirements for speakers, and many choices.

In terms of performance indicators, the performance data of the push-pull circuit is mostly better than that of the single-ended circuit (such as small distortion, high power, high signal-to-noise ratio)

2) It is difficult to increase the power of a single-ended amplifier circuit, even under the same conditions, the single-ended power will be much smaller than the push-pull power. But the sound processing will be more delicate than push-pull, and the sense of hearing will be much better than push-pull. Another point is that single-ended has high requirements on the sensitivity of the speaker, and the sensitivity can only be pushed well if the sensitivity is above 90db.

The performance index data of single-ended and push-pull are opposite, and the performance index data may not be as good as push-pull, but it may be better than push-pull in sound quality.

(Push-pull has a disadvantage, because a single channel has two working tubes, so there will be distortion in the process of the two push-pull tubes at the junction point, single-ended because there is only one mono channel and only one working tube, there is no such thing as Distortion occurs during the handover of the two tubes, so the sound quality will be better than push-pull)

In general, push-pull and single-ended circuits have their own advantages. There is no such thing as a better circuit. It mainly depends on the design of the circuit and the matching of the whole machine. You can choose according to your personal needs and the parameters of your own box. .

 About the electronic tube

There are many types of electronic tubes on the market. At present, the post-stage amplifier tubes of push-pull power amplifiers are commonly used in the market: KT88, EL34, EL84, 6V6 and other models.

300B, 845, 2A3 and other triodes are commonly used in the rear stage of single-ended computers. The most common single-ended power amplifier on the market is 300B.
